Zuzu African Acrobats Experience

The Zuzu African Acrobats, a high-energy acrobatic group from Kenya, will perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8th at the CIS auditorium (PR Leyva). The Zuzu African Acrobats have performed on “America’s Got Talent,” and “Late Night with David Letterman,” and on college campuses around the U.S. Their performance includes fast pyramid building, limbo, contortion, bottle balancing, chair stacks and hand balancing in a routine that pays homage to the cultural history of East Africa.

Global History 112: “Up from Africa” documentary viewing

In remembrance of the 400th Anniversary of the arrival of the first transatlantic slave in the North American British Colonies, please join the students of Global History 112 for a viewing of the educational documentary, “Up From Africa” on Monday, February 11 at 1:00PM in Room 152. The documentary lasts approximately 40 minutes which will allow us time for comments and discussion. Light snacks will be served.

Black History Month Presentation: Black Migrations

The NMSU Carlsbad Library will host a Black History Month Event on Thursday, February 21st at 4:30 PM. This year’s theme is “Black Migrations”, emphasizing on the movement of people of African Descent to new destinations and subsequently to new social realities. There will be a presentation and refreshments will be served.

Loud Creation Call for Submissions

The Loud Creation Fine Arts Publication Class will be accepting visual art, creative non-fiction, short fiction, and poetry that explores the theme of Memory for volume seven of Loud Creation. Submit your work for the chance to see it in print. The Deadline for submission is March 15. Include your name, title, date created, file of work, and any information about the work to consider. Remembering the Bataan Death March

Celebrating Women’s History Month Presentation and Book Signing
