Academic Advising
From your first semester through graduation or transfer, academic advising is invaluable resource to help you reach your goals. Advisors work with students to select and enroll in classes, understand academic program requirements, develop graduation plans, and connect with campus resources.
Advising is available year-round by appointment; walk-ins are seen on a first-come, first-serve as time permits. Select the “Schedule and Appointment” button or click here to make an appointment.
How to Prepare for Your Appointment
Before your first appointment, make sure that your admissions status is tentative or final, you have an active myNMSU account, and if needed have taken the Accuplacer test; completion of these tasks ensures that you can register for classes. Note that testing may be waived for students who have completed the ACT within the last year or are transferring in college-level math, reading, or English courses.
