About the Library

NMSU Carlsbad is a two-year branch community college of New Mexico State University and is independently accredited by the North Central Association. The Library at Carlsbad supports instruction, faculty research and development of students in a variety of academic and vocational areas. Digital access to electronic resources supplements the traditional print materials. Current faculty, staff, distance and on-campus and distance students in certificate programs, associate degree programs and transfer programs have remote access to electronic library resources. Additionally, the Library provides learning support to students in the Adult Basic Education, Community Services & Continuing Education, and the Manufacturing Sector Development programs. Carlsbad and Eddy County residents are invited to use library resources during regular library hours.

The physical collection is comprised of 17,000 items including media, books, journals, magazines and newspaper subscriptions. The Carlsbad campus electronic network is comprised of 26 general and specific subject databases. It is supplemented by over 40 subject specific GALE databases provided by New Mexico State Library.

Training on the use of electronic resources is available to faculty and students by appointment.
