Returning Student

The instructions below will take returning NMSU students thru the process of applying for re-admission to NMSU Carlsbad.

Select each step below for details

Step 1: Applying for Admission

You will need to perform the following tasks:

  1. Create an account to submit an Online application (Note: this account is for Admissions only)
  2. Submit an Online application. Select “Carlsbad” as your campus. The $20 application fee will be waived

After you have successfully completed your Online application, you should receive a letter of congratulations from NMSU Carlsbad. The letter of congratulations will include your AggieID#. You may now reactivate your myNMSU account.


Step 2: Request Official Transcripts

If you have attended any other institutions after you attended NMSU, please have official transcripts from those institutions sent to: OR 1500 University Drive, Carlsbad, NM 88220.

We accept official transcriptions in print and digital format.

Official transcripts must come directly from the institution. If the document is delivered to us from anyone, other than the institution, it is not considered an official transcript.

Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

Financial Aid Disbursement
Each semester, grants, loans, and scholarships are disbursed to student accounts before classes start to pay off any University balances, and a refund will be issued to the student if there are funds remaining afterwards. Disbursement and refund dates for the current semester may be viewed at Students are encouraged to complete their financial aid files early to ensure timely disbursement. Visit the Financial Aid Office in room 107 or call (575) 234-9230.

Step 4: Schedule an Advising Appointment

To schedule an appointment, visit our Online Scheduler, call the Student Services office at (575) 234-9221, or visit the NMSU Carlsbad campus at 1500 University Drive (Room 111), Carlsbad, NM 88220.

Step 5: Get Your Parking Permit, Student ID Card, and Textbooks

Visit the business office, room 108, to get your parking permit and student ID card.

You may purchase textbooks and supplies in the Barnes & Noble Campus Bookstore, Room 105.

Step 6: Pay NMSU

You may pay tuition and fees by mail, phone, in person, or online at Stop by the Business Office in room 108 to inquire about the payment plan option or call (575) 234-9200.

Terms & Conditions of Registration

Payment Due Dates and Options
Payment is due in full by September 15 for the fall semester, February 15 for the spring semester, and June 15 for the summer session. Those who wish to utilize the payment plan option will be charged a fee of $10 to accounts not paid in full by the 15th of each month during the term.
