NMSU Carlsbad 2021 Graduation Parade Details:
Friday May 14, 2021 line up at 5:30 p.m. at the Carlsbad Municipal Beach Parking Lot
Parade starts at 6:00 p.m.
Parade Marshall- Dr. Karla Volpi- She will be in the lead vehicle. All vehicles will follow her.

 Parade Route:

Meet at beach parking lot, head west up Church St until we hit 8th street, turn right onto 8th head north to the hospital, turn left in front of hospital end up at the college for the drive thru (the drive thru is where we will hand out diploma covers). We would like to request that faculty and staff be waiting at the college on the side of the road or in front of the building (6 feet apart and masked) to greet the graduates as they come in. Cars will circle through the roundabout in front of the college where they will receive their diploma covers and grad gifts.

Unfortunately, the graduates can only have a personal vehicle in the parade and no trailers or floats. We are not holding an in person ceremony because of the 6 feet social distancing requirements, and limitations of attendance.  The parade is another way to spotlight our graduates in a COVID-19 safe manner.

Parade Rules:

Parade participants will not throw, pitch, or let go of any candy, gum or other objects intended for parade spectators.

There will be no willful delays or stopping of the parade, except when reasonably required for the safe and orderly conduct of the parade.

Violations of these and other required conditions set forth by City Ordinance shall constitute a violation of this permit.
