Fine Arts Publication

About the Publication

The Fine Arts Publication, Loud Creation, is a student-made, student-driven magazine for NMSU Carlsbad and the local community. Students as well as writers and artists outside of the university create the stories, artworks, and poems featured in the book. They also are responsible for book’s layout design and structure.

Why Get Involved?

Students enroll in a Special Topics English, Art, and/or Digital Media course to participate in the development of Loud Creation. Unlike the traditional lecture course, students in the Fine Arts Publication class collaborate in an environment that mimics the workplace or an artist’s co-op. They learn a variety of skills related to creative writing, art, graphic design, critiquing, and copy editing. Students can not only earn up to 3 credit hours for the class; they can reference their contributions to Loud Creation in their resumés.
