NMSU Carlsbad Students,
 
Preserving the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff are our top priorities as we work through this world-wide COVID-19 outbreak. In an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus the NMSU Carlsbad Student Services staff will be working on a modified work schedule. We will still maintain our regular business hours. You may reach out to us thought phone, email, Live Chat, or by scheduling an appointment online. Phone messages are normally returned with 24 hours.

Admissions: New, Readmit, or Transfer students :To apply for admissions students will apply online through https://carlsbad.nmsu.edu/admissions/ . Once your admissions application has been received an admissions advisor will be in contact with you through the phone number and the email address you listed on your admissions application.  Please make sure to use the admissions checklist located on the https://carlsbad.nmsu.edu/admissions/. Admissions advisors will guide you through the admissions process all the way through to setting up an appointment with advisor for course scheduling and registration. Admissions provides Video Chats. To schedule a Video Chat with admissions please visit the admissions webpage at https://carlsbad.nmsu.edu/admissions/. You can call Student Services at (575)234-9225 if you have any questions.
 
Advising: Current students can schedule an appointment online to meet with an advisor virtually through TEAMS or over the phone. Current students can call advisors, email advisors and/or send an advisor a message through TEAMS or NAVIGATE.
 
Current Students: To schedule an appointment with an advisor please click on the “Schedule an Appointment“  link located on the Advising webpage at https://carlsbad.nmsu.edu/advising. You will be redirected to login into your myNMSU Portal. Once you are logged into the appointment scheduler click on “Make an Appointment” on the right side of the screen, and make sure to click on the Carlsbad location.
 
Financial Aid: Please visit the Financial Aid webpage at https://carlsbad.nmsu.edu/financial-aid/ for updated contact information and for information about financial aid, scholarships, or Veteran Affairs. To meet with financial aid staff please send an email to Carlsbad_finaid@nmsu.edu . If you have any questions you may call (575) 234-9225.
 
It is especially important to note that all students should check their myNMSU email account several times throughout the week for communication regarding campus updates.

Remember during these uncertain times avoid groups of more than 5 people and keep at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and others. If you are not feeling well please contact your doctor. Wash your hands often and try to avoid touching your face. All staff, students, and faculty are required to wear face coverings while on campus. Stay safe and remember we are all in this pandemic together and let’s continue to be kind to one another. Greetings NMSU Carlsbad Students,

We will still maintain our regular business hours only from a distance. You may reach out to us via email. Phone messages will be check 2-3 times throughout the day.

The NMSU Carlsbad Academic Advising Center will only be taking appointments over the phone, through virtual meetings, or you may email your advisor until further notice. We will not be offering any face 2 face appointments at this time.

As President, Dr. John Gratton stated in his email:
 
“When classes resume on Monday, March 30, all instruction should be delivered online and students and faculty should not report to campus”.
 
As more information develops you will be notified through your NMSU email account. Try to enjoy the rest of spring break. Mini Semester 2 courses begin online on March 30, 2020.
